What are Android screens & what can they do?

If you have iDrive, Android units are a direct replacement for your existing iDrive screen. They're an all in one unit that run completely independently from your original iDrive, and add functions like;

- A separate touchscreen Android interface & device to use and download apps to
- Navigation like Google Maps or Waze
- Bluetooth streaming/bluetooth phone calls
- Reverse cameras
- Front facing dash cam
- Apple CarPlay or Android Auto
- Additional USB devices (hard drives, flash drives, DAB, etc)

These can also be added to cars without iDrive (but must have an AUX in) for the same functionality.

What happens to my current iDrive/radio?

Absolutely nothing - your original iDrive/radio is accessible at all times and remains as part of your car. You can easily switch between the two by either your iDrive controller or via an on screen button on the Android screen.

What's the difference between this & other screens?

As with everything, there are differing versions and variations.

Unfortunately, not everything is created equally, and cheaper Android screens often have lower hardware & software specifications, along with a lack of support.

Ultimately, all Android screens do the same job, just with a different user experience & responsiveness. We only stock the best Android screens available (using the same manufacturer as Avin), and we run them in an own personal vehicles.

We provide a 12 month warranty from the date of your invoice which is return to manufacturer providing that the product has normal usage and is in fair condition.

The warranty does not cover the following:

  • Accident, neglect, abuse, or acts of force majeure
  • Unauthorised repair or modification of the products, both hardware and software
  • Failure to install or use the product in accordance with the instruction or use of this product other than for its intended purpose
  • The display screen

Refunds & returns

We offer refunds if the unit is unused in its original packaging. The cost of the shipping back to the manufacturer in China will be taken from the amount paid. Refunds will be initialised through our payment provider when the item has been received by the manufacturer and confirmed passed their internal QA check.

If the unit has been used, a refund/partial refund is at the discretion of the manufacturer dependent on the condition of the item. This is due to the nature & origin of the item, and as it's a custom order unit.

Terms & conditions

Some original CCC screens will require an additional conversion harness for the LVDS cable.

How easy is it to install?

If you're handy with a screwdriver and trim tools, then you'll be fine! It takes us on average 2 hours to install the screen and reverse camera, including routing all wires and testing the unit.

How long to get these screens?

As we don't keep stock of these units, every order is shipped directly from our manufacturer in China. It usually takes 7-14 days from from payment to us receiving the screen.

Do you supply OS & MCU updates?

Since we work directly with the manufacturer, we can supply bug fixes, OS updates, and supply low level support and diagnostics. We can even enable specialist functions per your request!
