If it doesn't exist yet, we'll design it and make it.

A 1/1 build is new parts made for your headlights. Pick how far you want to go:

New internals: your casing stays and everything inside is new. Your original lenses are used for the 3D scan, so you supply new aftermarket lenses to us with your headlights
New internals and lenses: new internals as above, with new lenses made from scratch by us, so you don't supply any lenses
New internals, lenses and casing: a completely new headlight, with a new casing, headlight harness, plugs, vents, projector mounts, motors and pivot points

Every 1/1 build starts with a paid design session on your headlights.

Between our team and our manufacturing partners we've got decades of headlight experience. Whatever you've got in mind, we'll find a way to build it as close to your vision as possible.

Step 1, every 1/1 build

Design and feasibility session

With your headlights in hand, we look at what can be done and what can be reused, check which lenses and parts exist for your model, and 3D scan your headlights to make a rough CAD design and a render of how they could look. You get the render, a written spec and a written quote for the agreed spec, with any R&D unknowns priced or set out. The session fee is credited in full against the build if you book it within 28 days of the session.

From the 3D scan, we design new internal parts and a new look around them. Everything has to fit the space your original casing and lens shape allow, so the outside shape stays exactly as it is.

How a 1/1 build works

Important information

The design session

The session is booked and paid for here, and needs your headlights in hand.
It is paid in full when booked, and credited in full against the build if the build is booked within 28 days of the session. After 28 days it is not credited.
It is not refunded once it has taken place, including where a design turns out not to be feasible. You keep the findings.
A session can be rebooked with 7 full days' notice. A missed session is not refunded.
The CAD files and designs from the session remain ours.

Prices and payment

Prices are starting points for a pair. The final price is set by your headlights' spec, in the written quote.
OEM control units are not included in the starting prices. Where your design needs them, they are quoted with your spec.
The build is paid in three stages: 25% of the build price to book it, 25% on the prototype and the remaining 50% on the production run.
Parts and materials ordered specially for your build can't be cancelled once ordered.
The agreed price is not renegotiated once the build has started.
The balance and any shipping are paid before your headlights are collected or shipped.
The design session is paid by card through the website. The build's stage payments (25%, 25% and 50%) are by bank transfer only. We don't accept cash, PayPal or Klarna.

Refunds and cancellation

The design session is non-refundable once booked. We spend over 3 hours preparing for it before you arrive, so cancelling carries a cancellation charge of the full session fee, our genuine estimate of that work (government guidance on cancellation charges). By booking, you ask us to start that preparation straight away.
When you accept your quote you sign: "My 1/1 build is made to the written spec I have signed, and it is built and checked against that spec alone. The right to cancel does not apply. Any change I ask for after signing needs a new written quote, signed by me before work on it starts, and may add cost and time; a change asked for by phone, message or in person is not acted on until it is signed. I approve the prototype in writing before the production run, and the production pair is made to match it. Each stage payment is not refundable once made, including if I cancel or change the build."
1/1 builds are made to your spec, so they are not refunded or returned unless they are faulty or not as described.
No payment is refunded if you cancel the build.
Your statutory rights are not affected.

Spec, changes and sign-off

A design we haven't built before carries R&D. We set out the unknowns and their cost before you pay anything towards the build.
Changes to the spec after the quote reset the build date and may change the price.
You sign off the design in writing before your headlights are sealed.
Every 1/1 build is made to be MOT compliant in normal driving mode.

Your headlights

For new internals, or new internals and lenses, we work on genuine OEM headlights. Headlights built or modified by others aren't accepted, and headlights opened before are inspected and may be refused.
For new internals, your original lenses are used for the 3D scan, so new aftermarket lenses must be supplied to us with your headlights.
For a new headlight, your original headlights are needed for the 3D scan of the casing and your car's mounting points.
When you send them in, packing them safely is your responsibility. DHL transit cover is optional and charged per leg.

Build time and queue

Your build joins the queue when the first 25% is paid. We give you its start date and an update when it begins.
How long a 1/1 build takes depends on its spec and complexity. We give you the timescale with your quote.

Road use and coding

A 1/1 build is a one-off, made to your spec. A new casing does not carry the original headlight's E-mark.
Coloured lighting is for off-road and show use only. It is built switchable, so your headlights stay MOT compliant on the road.
Our builds work without coding in most cases. Errors from your car's own coding are not covered, and coding is quoted separately.
We don't carry out ADAS recalibration.

Warranty

1 year on our build and workmanship, from the day you sign the handover document.
Bought-in parts carry their supplier's warranty.
Postage on a warranty return is yours, both ways.

Confidentiality and NDAs

If your build needs a non-disclosure agreement, we need to know before you book the design session, so it is signed before any work starts.
A build under NDA is never photographed for, or shown on, our website or social media until the NDA expires.

Photos and inspiration

AI images and renders are welcome as inspiration, but they don't show what fits inside a headlight, so every design is checked on the real part first.
We may photograph and film your build and use it on our website and social media, unless you ask us not to or your build is under an NDA.
